September schedule set for England's younger teams

Friday 29 Jul 2016
England U19s

England’s development teams are all in action during September, with four different squads facing a variety of opposition during the next international week.

The Under-20s, who will this season be led by Aidy Boothroyd while they prepare for next summer’s World Cup in South Korea, begin their campaign with a double header against Brazil on home soil.

The first match will be played behind-closed-doors at St. George’s Park before the nations will face off at Kidderminster Harriers’ Aggborough Stadium on Sunday 4 September with a 3pm kick-off.

For the U19s, who are warming up for their Euro Qualifiers in October, there’s a home game to start with as they face the Netherlands at AFC Telford United’s New Bucks Head Stadium on Thursday 1 September, with that game kicking-off at 12.30pm.

Keith Downing’s side then head over to Brussels for a second game against Belgium at their national training centre on Sunday 4 September (3pm).

England’s U18s begin their campaign with a mini-tournament in the north west, which features opposition from Israel and Italy.

Led by head coach Neil Dewsnip, they face Italy on Thursday 1 September (7pm) at Fleetwood Town’s Highbury Stadium before moving further up the Lancashire coast to play Israel at Morecambe’s Globe Arena on Monday 5 September (7pm).

Steve Cooper’s U17s are also in action, as they build-up to October’s Euro Qualifiers, with a trip to Croatia for a mini tournament featuring the host nation, Greece and Germany.
