Stoke finished fourth in the Premier League last season

Stoke City went top of the Northern Premier League thanks to a second resounding win of the season, beating Doncaster Belles 5-0.

There were goals galore once again up and down the country, with Stoke and Loughborough Foxes leading the way in their respective divisions thus far.

NORTHERN DIVISION

Two goals from in-form forward Hannah Keryakopolis – who now has 14 in 12 appearances in 2018 – inspired a dominant second-half performance from the Potters.

New signing Holly Chipman – who now has two in her first two games for the club – said: “It’s been a really good start, we’re really happy with the amount of goals we’ve scored, but also to keep two clean sheets is a bonus too. Let’s hope we can keep it going.

Huddersfield Town are the only other side with a perfect record, Katie Nutter grabbing the winner as they won 2-1 at Guiseley Vixens.

Middlesbrough got their first three points of the season as they turned around a 2-1 half-time deficit to win 3-2 at Sheffield.

Hull City came from two down to grab a 2-2 draw at home to Derby County, with Misty Russell and Liberty Bott scoring twice in three minutes to rescue a point for the home side.

Elsewhere, Sunderland won 2-1 at Bradford City and Fylde and Nottingham Forest played out a 0-0 draw.

SOUTHERN DIVISION

Loughborough Foxes made it two from two as they won in rather more understated fashion this week thanks to a 3-1 triumph at Watford.

After putting seven past Queens Park Rangers last week, strikes from Becky Knight, Charlotte Cooper and Katie Lowder were enough to down the Londoners.

Portsmouth sit second, but only by virtue of alphabetical order, as they came from behind to beat Gillingham 4-1 at home.

Pompey midfielder Carla Perkins said: “Every single player fought on that pitch. I’m buzzing to get a 4-1 win and more minutes under my belt.”

Chichester City are the only other side on six points after they beat Plymouth Argyle 3-0, Molly Clark grabbing a double.

Cardiff got their first won of the campaign in emphatic style, winning 5-0 at C&K Basildon.

Elsewhere Coventry remain unbeaten as they beat MK Dons 3-0 at home, whilst Oxford United won at Queens Park Rangers by the same scoreline.
