“What pleased me most is that he [Marcus Rashford] enjoyed his football tonight and he played with a real swagger.
"He’s a Man United player so he got booed at the start but cheered off at the end so that tells you about his performance, so we're really pleased for him.
“We’ve got great competition for places right the way through the team, I think we saw that tonight.
“The team, the patterns of play, the professionalism, the approach to both matches have carried things out really well.
“I thought today his [Rashford’s] linking play was good, his individuality of running at people and taking people on in and around the penalty area was good, and of course it’s a wonderful strike for the goal; and he worked incredibly hard for the team to press and shut down.
“I think he had a difficult end to the season having to play on his own as a nine at times, he’s still filling out and growing so we forget how young he is.
“Today he had that exuberance and you could see he was teasing defenders so it was lovely to see.
“We could stand here and go through one to eleven, if it’s complicated the decision it’s in a good way – we know the decisions we need to make, we need options.
“We seem to have got through the two games without any serious injuries and we’ve got to have players that can come in and change matches when we’re out there and chase games and be able to shut games down.
“I’m really pleased with the three weeks of preparation, we’ve given ourselves a really good platform.”

“You work on shots like those in training pretty much every day, so when one comes off in the game it’s the reward you get for the practise. I’m happy with the game today and the result because I feel like we’re in good physical form leading up to the tournament which is the most important thing.
“I just tried to play free today and enjoy myself but try and do it within a structure, so it’s good practise for what we need in the tournament.
“I still need to get in the box a bit more to try and finish off some chances from crossing areas, so something to learn from each game.
“It means a lot to just be selected but going there and hopefully playing a major part is my main aim.
“If everyone goes with that mentality and performs to the best of our ability then we’ve got a good chance.
“The games are just to showcase ourselves to the fans, how far we’ve come on, we know in training how far we’ve come on in the last 18 months and these games are to show everyone that.
“Anything’s possible so we have to go there with the highest expectations.”
