Two early goals gave England Women’s Under-19s victory over France in their final match of the La Manga Tournament.
Lauren Hemp opened the scoring on nine minutes with her second goal in five days and Hannah Cain added a quick-fire second just three minutes later.
It was Cain’s third goal in as many games, the Sheffield youngster having also netted against USA and Czech Republic. And although France pulled a goal back, the Young Lionesses held on for victory.
Rehanne Skinner can be pleased with her side’s work in southern Spain, finishing the week with two wins and a draw from their three matches.
And it sets them up nicely for next month’s Euro qualifiers.
England have been pitched in Group 2 alongside Israel (who they face on Tuesday 3 April), host nation Slovakia (Friday 6 April) and Germany (Monday 9 April).
The top-placed nation in the group will make it through to the finals, which are being staged in Switzerland in July.
