English referee Anthony Taylor and his team have been selected to take charge of the UEFA Nations League Final between Spain and France this weekend.

Taking place at the San Siro in Milan, Manchester-based Taylor will be joined by an English team of officials in Italy while there will also be English representation on the VAR team.

Taylor will be assisted by Gary Beswick and Adam Nunn, while the fourth official will be Craig Pawson and reserve assistant referee is Stuart Burt.

Back at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Stuart Attwell will be the video assistant referee (VAR), while Chris Kavanagh, Lee Betts and Dutchman Pol Van Boekel will act as assistant VARs.

“The appointment of Anthony Taylor with his English assistant referees, fourth official, VAR and AVARs to take charge of the UEFA National League Final on Sunday is another important signal of the strength and reputation of our English match officials,” said David Elleray, chair of the FA Referees’ Committee.

“This final is a major personal milestone for Anthony who will now, uniquely, have officiated in the UEFA Super Cup twice and the UEFA Champions League, Europa League, U19 and EURO finals.

“As was seen in EUROs, and especially during his handling of the traumatic incident in the Denmark-Finland match, Anthony is clearly one of the very best referees in the world and his appointment, along with that of his colleagues, is richly deserved.”
