British Dodgeball run nine rounds of fixtures each year and visit St. George’s Park in Burton upon Trent for the English National League games, utilising state-of-the-art facilities perfectly suited to a fast-paced, contact sport like dodgeball.
With fixtures being played from the morning all the way through to the evening, British Dodgeball’s annual visits to St. George’s Park are action-packed events with many of the country’s finest dodgeball players on show, playing a sport which continues to grow in popularity throughout the country at various age groups.
Speaking at St George’s Park after a day of English National League fixtures, British Dodgeball’s Alex Such said: “It’s amazing to have top players from around the country in one place, competing across all four of the men’s leagues and the two women’s leagues.
“It has been great to have our British Dodgeball community back together under one roof. We primarily use the Futsal arena (at St. George’s Park), which is perfect for what we need. It allows us to have four courts, wide open spaces and a balcony for filming.
“Playing here at St. George’s Park is vital for our sport. For a relatively new and growing sport like dodgeball, it’s important for us to play at an established location that has such prestige and history. It does wonders for us.”
Kathryn Thomas of Nottingham Dodgeball Club added: “The facilities at St. George’s Park are so important for the sport. It’s the only venue in the calendar where we’re confident that all four of our teams can compete on the same day at the same place. That’s huge, because dodgeball is a community-based sport and we all want to come out, see each other, have fun and play at the highest standard. Playing here really supports that.”
