Liverpool v Leicester City – Saturday 9 March 2024 at 12pm GMT
Liverpool and Leicester City head into this weekend’s clash with history-making on their mind.
For the Foxes, victory over the Reds would see them reach their first Women’s FA Cup semi-final.
As for Liverpool, they are looking to secure a maiden Women’s FA Cup after three final defeats on the bounce between 1994 and 1996.
Leicester, who are currently seventh in the Barclays Women’s Super League, head into the clash off the back of a 4-0 defeat to reigning champions Chelsea but will be hoping for a good away following at Prenton Park this weekend as they will be providing supporters with free travel.
The Foxes come up against a Liverpool side who have already surpassed last season’s overall points tally in the BWSL (23) and are currently in fifth place – level on points with Manchester United in fourth – after Sunday’s 4-1 win over Aston Villa, the first time they have won back-to-back BWSL games since the opening two matches of the season.

Brighton & Hove Albion v Manchester United – Saturday 9 March 2024 at 5.15pm GMT
Third time lucky didn’t quite work out last season so Brighton & Hove Albion will be hoping to make it fourth time’s a charm in the coming months.
After having to wait 45 years for a second Women’s FA Cup semi-final, Brighton have the chance to make it into the final four for the third time in the last four editions when they seek revenge this weekend against Manchester United – the team who denied them a place at Wembley Stadium connected by EE last year.
Brighton have never reached the Women’s FA Cup final and victory over last season’s runners-up and the team currently fourth in the BWSL would leave them one win away from Wembley.
The Seagulls head into this clash buoyed by Mikey Harris’ first BWSL win as interim head coach, the 7-3 victory over Bristol City moving them seven points clear of the Robins at the foot of the table.
As for United, they will be hoping to go one step further and claim a maiden Women’s FA Cup title after losing 1-0 to Chelsea last year.
Marc Skinner’s side will take confidence from beating Brighton 2-0 at the start of February, although that result and the 3-1 win over Southampton in the last round have been followed by a 3-1 defeat to Arsenal and a 1-1 draw with West Ham United in recent weeks.

Chelsea enter a big week in their search for the quadruple as they face Manchester City in the semi-final of The FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup on Thursday before taking on Everton in the Women’s FA Cup three days later.
The 2006-07 Arsenal team are the only English side to have lifted the Champions League as part of a quadruple and that famous Gunners team from the 00s are also the only side to have won four consecutive FA Cups – both feats Chelsea will look to match this season.
Emma Hayes will be hoping her final season in charge of the Blues will be a historic one, with the Londoners currently top of the BWSL on goal difference and Ajax lying in wait in the Champions League quarter-final.
Standing in their way in the FA Cup are an Everton side who whilst tenth in the BWSL and have lost their last nine games against Chelsea, will take heart from a good display against second-placed Manchester City at the weekend.

Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester City – Sunday 10 March 2024 at 3pm GMT
Another club hoping to make history are Tottenham Hotspur, as they aim to secure their first Women’s FA Cup semi-final place.
Robert Vilahamn has guided Spurs to sixth in the BWSL during his first season in charge but their 1-0 victory over Charlton Athletic in the last round of the Women’s FA Cup is their only win in their last six games in all competitions.
Manchester City, on the other hand, are only behind Chelsea at the top of the BWSL table by goal difference after an incredible run of form which sees them unbeaten in their last 19 matches, winning 17 of those.
City, who have also been boosted this week by the news that manager Gareth Taylor has signed a three-year contract extension, will be looking to win their fourth Women’s FA Cup, having last lifted the trophy in 2020.
