The Emirates FA Cup first round proper draw was made live on the BBC on Monday evening, with 40 ties scheduled to take place in November.
With the draw being staged at the University of Bradford Stadium, home of Bradford City FC, 48 clubs from the EFL's League One and Two joined the competition along with the 32 non-League clubs who had progressed from the qualifying rounds.
The draw took place in Bradford due to its historical links to the FA Cup, with the iconic look of the competition’s current trophy first designed and manufactured by Bradford jewellers Fattorini and Sons, with the original version competed for between 1911 and 1993.
That piece of silverware was made in time for the 1911 Final, which Bradford City coincidentally won by defeating Newcastle United 1-0 after a replay, and this remains the club’s only major honour.
With ties to be held between Friday 1 and Monday 4 November, there are some interesting encounters to look forward to, including Tamworth v Huddersfield Town and Southend United v Charlton Athletic.
Winning clubs in the first round proper will receive £45,000 from the FA Cup prize fund, with losing teams collecting £15,000.
