Nottingham Forest’s Nuno Espirito Santo and Morgan Gibbs-White have been sanctioned by an independent Regulatory Commission, and Brighton & Hove Albion’s Fabian Hurzeler has been fined.
Nuno Espirito Santo, Morgan Gibbs-White and Fabian Hurzeler were charged following incidents in the 83rd minute of the Premier League match between Nottingham Forest and Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday 22 September.
It was alleged that the Nottingham Forest head coach acted in an improper manner and/or used abusive and/or insulting words towards a match official. The Nottingham Forest midfielder allegedly acted in an improper manner and/or used abusive and/or insulting words towards the fourth official after being sent off. It was alleged that the Brighton & Hove Albion manager acted in an improper manner.
Nuno Espirito Santo, Morgan Gibbs-White and Fabian Hurzeler admitted to their respective charges. The independent Regulatory Commission imposed a two-match touchline suspension and £55,000 fine on the Nottingham Forest head coach, which activated a further one-match touchline ban that had been suspended, as well as a one-match suspension and £20,000 fine on the Nottingham Forest midfielder. The Brighton & Hove Albion manager was fined £8,000 after accepting the standard penalty.
The independent Regulatory Commission’s written reasons for its decisions in relation to Nuno Espirito Santo and Morgan Gibbs-White will be published in due course.
