Vivianne Miedema marked her comeback from injury with a goal as Manchester City eased into the Adobe Women's FA Cup fourth round with a 3-0 win over Ipswich Town.

Miedema added the third after a goal either side of the break from Jill Roord and Laura Coombs to round off a comfortable afternoon for Gareth Taylor's side.

They join neighbours Manchester United in the next round, after Rachel Williams fired the holders past stubborn a West Bromwich Albion on a weekend for hat-trick heroes in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup.

Only Melvine Malard breached the Baggies rearguard in the first 77 minutes of their fourth round tie, with the FA Women’s National League side offering stern resistance.

But United’s experience showed in the closing stages as they added six goals in the last 20 minutes, including a treble for Williams and a first goal since last year’s FA Cup final for Ella Toone following a two-month absence through injury.

Match balls were taken home across the country as Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah notched up three goals in London City Lionesses’ 5-0 win against Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Sweden international Kosovare Asllani and Isobel Goodwin added two more to end fifth-tier Fulham's admirable cup run.

Eleanor Dale scored four and Ellen Jones three as second-tier Sunderland romped to a 7-1 victory over Exeter City of the FA WNL Southern Premier Division.

Meanwhile, Championship side Newcastle United narrowly earned a 1-0 victory over Nottingham Forest.

The fourth round also threw up a London derby as five-time winners Chelsea emerged victorious with a comprehensive 4-0 win over Charlton Athletic.

Mayra Ramirez opened the scoring on 40 minutes and Guro Reiten converted a penalty as the Blues took a commanding interval lead.

Aggie Beever-Jones scored three minutes after being introduced as a half-time substitute before Niamh Charles opened her account for the season to make it four.

Aston Villa also successfully navigated lower-tier opposition, as Gabi Nunes scored a hat-trick as her side beat Bristol Rovers 9-0.

Rugby Borough’s 6-0 victory at London Bees and Wolverhampton Wanderers’ 2-0 defeat of Cheltenham Town ensured there will be FA WNL Northern Premier Division representation in the fifth round.
