Brendan Rodgers has hinted England duo Daniel Sturridge and Jordan Henderson could make their comebacks in Sunday's home clash with Norwich.
Sturridge has not played since April and only made 19 appearances for club and country during 2014-15.
However, he has been back in full training since for over a week after recovering from a hip operation in May.
Daniel Sturridge has not played since being withdrawn from Liverpool's FA Cup game against Blackburn on 8 April
While midfielder and club captain Henderson underwent a specialist procedure in the United States earlier in the week in an attempt to cure an ongoing heel problem.
And Rodgers said at his weekly media briefing on Friday: "Jordan will train today so we'll see how he comes through that.
"He has obviously been away and had some work done on his foot, so hopefully all will be well with that but we'll assess it over the next 48 hours.
"Daniel has been training with the team now for a week or so and again we will assess that in relation to the game."
Following Sunday's Premier League clash with Norwich at Anfield, the duo have a further three home games to ease back into before they hit the road again.
They take on Carlisle in the Capital One Cup Third Round on Wednesday 23 September, before welcoming Aston Villa to the north-west three days later.
The Reds then face FC Sion in a Europa League tie on Thursday 1 October.
Henderson and Sturridge will also have their eyes on re-joining Roy Hodgson's England squad, who complete their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign in early October.
The Three Lions take on Estonia at Wembley Stadium on Friday 9 October, before finishing the group in Lithuania three days later.
