The 22-year-old, named as the Championship Player Of The Season for 2013-14, was a regular in Gareth Southgate’s squad as he provided competition for the likes of Saido Berahino and Harry Kane in the battle for a striking spot.
And Ings never let his country down, with his work-rate, movement and ability ensuring that he was a handful for any defence that he came up against.
That was shown perfectly in November when he bagged a brace against Portugal on his home ground of Turf Moor when granted a place in the starting line-up.
He proved to be as much of a nuisance against France a few days later when he came on as a half-time substitute for the game in Brest, which unfortunately ended in a 3-2 defeat.
And with his first goals in the Premier League also behind him for Burnley, the former AFC Bournemouth man will be looking forward to an equally profitable 2015.
